Plant Thermal Monitoring

Determine Optimum Performance

GE’s power plant thermal modeling service enables plant owners to evaluate and diagnose their plant’s performance. We use a variety of proprietary tools to build a thermal model of your power plant.

Understanding performance trends enables you to make more economically sound maintenance decisions. In addition, performance models allow you to evaluate the effects of certain operational changes before you actually make them, saving time and money in optimizing plant economics.

Features & Benefits

Incorporating plant economic parameters into thermal performance models allows you to determine economically optimum operating conditions for your power plant.

Our power plant thermal modeling service includes the following useful tools:

  • Thermal kits include a graphical representation of the effect of key parameters on turbine and cycle performance. The kit includes “correction curves” which can be used to compare the plant performance to design, or to compare on a consistent basis tests conducted under different operating conditions.
  • Posting diagrams automatically display heat balance parameters on a pictorial representation of the cycle. This convenient visual representation of plant data helps you detect and diagnose instrumentation and performance problems.
  • Software that calculates heat balance parameters for cycle components. The software allows quick access to calculated heat balance data as well as diagnostic tools for performance trending and optimizing.

Our power plant thermal modeling service can benefit your plant by:

  • Reducing fuel costs
  • Recovering lost performance
  • Reducing outage maintenance expenses
  • Improving outage forecasting and planning
  • Focusing on cost-effective improvements
  • Determining the impact of operational or hardware changes on plant performance
  • Determining the effect of cycle components on plant performance
