Lease Engine Program

You can lease equipment from GE when your own equipment is at a depot for repair or when it cannot be repaired on-site within a reasonable amount of time. Formal lease agreements, containing the specific terms and conditions of the lease, are executed prior to leasing an engine from GE.

  • Members: A member lease agreement is a contract of six-year duration that provides a guarantee of availability. You pay an annual membership fee and a weekly usage fee whenever a lease asset goes into service at your facility.
  • Non-Members: A customer who has not opted for the six-year member lease agreement may use a GE lease asset on a single event basis under the terms of a non-member lease agreement. Availability for non-member usage is not guaranteed. A one time fee and higher weekly usage fee applies to non-members.

Engine Exchange Program

You can exchange LM gas turbine equipment needing repair for new or used LM gas turbines and generators. New units come with a factory performance guarantee and a one-year operation warranty. Used equipment has usually undergone a complete overhaul and may carry a one-year operational warranty.

Hot Section and Component Exchange

You can also exchange major engine assemblies quickly to maximize gas turbine availability. Rotable exchange assets are maintained by qualified overhaul facilities, are inspected and repaired to GE shop manual criteria and carry a one-year warranty. Rotable exchanges can be performed on your site.

By exchanging rather than repairing or replacing individual parts, the risk of extended downtime due to unexpected hardware problems is minimized. For a full hot section exchange, the total outage is typically two to five days, depending on the engine and site configuration. We normally perform the hot section exchange work itself in two days.
