What will I learn from this course?
This course is designed to enable operators, supervisors, and
engineering personnel to safely operate a GE designed steam-turbine
generator unit.
This course develops a background in steam turbine-generator
operation, which will enable participants to properly analyze
operating problems and take the necessary corrective action.
The course will detail the turbine and generator equipment as
well as their support systems. The training will include in-depth
instruction on the start-up and loading activities, and the
operational duties of the operator. Included in the course is
an in-depth instruction on alarm troubleshooting and the use
of the control interface (HMI).
Who should attend?
Operators, engineers, technicians, and administrative personnel
of operating facilities as well those who may work in affiliated
industries, who wish to gain an understanding of the day-to-day
operation of GE steam turbines.
This course is intended for personnel unfamiliar with GE gas
turbines. It should be considered as a “beginner”
level course.
Prerequisites
Instruction is given in English; therefore, a reasonable ability
to read and understand spoken English is required.
Course enrollment is a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 15 participants.
