EX2000 Exciter Advanced Course Description

This course provides a solid background in advanced EX2000 Digital Excitation System maintenance and troubleshooting using the Control System Toolbox.

Course Content

This course is oriented for participants who have previously attended an EX2000 class and who wish to learn more about the EX2000 system and the Control System Toolbox. The training is divided equally between classroom theory and practical lab exercises. Through classroom presentations and discussions, the student will learn advanced theory and operation of the EX2000. In the lab, each student will work with EX2000 hardware to complete practical lab exercises designed to teach advanced EX2000 troubleshooting and maintenance techniques.

Prerequisites
  • Attendance in the EX2000 Maintenance Course.
  • Participants should be very familiar with a Microsoft® Windows® operating system.
  • Participants are encouraged to research their turbine-generator equipment and documentation to verify they have an EX2000 on their unit and to bring a copy of their system elementary drawing with them to class.
