Workscope: LVCB Trip Device Repair

  • The trip device will be received, inspected and evaluated for required repairs
    - The unit will be visually inspected for worn or damaged parts.
    - The device cover and cap will be thoroughly inspected for cracks and/or breaks.
    - The coil will be inspected for damage and the coil varnish insulation inspected for cracks or defects.
    - All other assemblies will be inspected for worn or damaged parts.
  • All trip device assemblies will be disassembled into component parts to facilitate their repair and overhaul
  • Parts will be thoroughly cleaned and rebuilt as required
  • The following parts, and any defective parts, will be replaced
    - Dashpot gaskets and bots
    - Trip insulators
    - Calibration plates
  • The trip device will be re-assembled and re-adjusted in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications
  • High current tests will be performed and the device will be calibrated to the applicable manufacturer's time current characteristic curve and customer specified settings
  • Test data will be included as part of the final customer report
