Workscope: Valves Inspection and Replacement
  • Disassemble valve and visually inspect
  • Blast clean and NDE
  • Perform dimensional inspection and runout checks
  • Report incoming conditions
Valve Stem Replacement
Available for main stop, control, reheat, and intercept
  • Perform dimensional and runout checks of new stem
  • Remove disc from existing stem
  • Blue check new stem to back seat, as required
  • Check dimensions of disc for proper fit to new stem
  • Assemble disc to stem
  • Assemble stem to original crosshead, torque and blue check contact
  • Ensure proper contact, as required
  • Drill and ream hole for crosshead to stem pin
  • Perform final runout inspection on stem
  • Disassemble crosshead from stem and deburr
  • Fit new stem to crosshead pins
Valve Stem Bushing Replacement
  • Remove old stem bushing(s) and blast clean bore(s)
  • Weld repair peening groove
  • Grind new stem bushing(s) for interference fit and install
  • Hone bushing(s) to suit trybar (supplied by customer)
Note: Honing time varies according to the amount of stock on the new bushing.

Control Valve Rack Inspection
Available only for shell-mounted control valve racks
  • Perform complete disassembly
  • Blast clean components and NDE
    - Magnetic particle inspect valve body and castings
    - Dye penetrant inspect all seating areas
  • Runout and dimensionally inspect valve stems
  • Dimensionally inspect valve stem bushings
  • Runout and dimensionally inspect camshaft
  • Dimensionally inspect camshaft bearings and fits
  • Check flatness of horizontal joint
  • Re-assemble valve rack
  • Camshaft final alignment
