Latest technology at GASTECH 2005

Excellent attendance is certain for the 21st International Conference & Exhibition for the LNG, LPG and Natural Gas Industries. Two weeks before opening, conference organizers reported that a record number of early bookings created above-capacity demand for hotels in Bilbao, Spain. Luckily, accommodations can still be found in neighbouring towns.

Sessions will be divided into three categories: Commercial, Technical and Applications, and Utilizations. Presentations and other procedings will cover a wide variety of topics, including demand forcasting strategies, safety and training for ships and terminals and recent developments in LNG shipping techology.

GE Energy's Oil & Gas business will highlight a number of industry-leading technologies for natural gas and liquid natural gas (LNG) applications. For those who missed our exhibit at the DOHA show in Qatar, we will again showcase our development of the world's largest compression trains to provide unprecedented levels of LNG production. These "super trains" are driven by our Frame 9 gas turbines, marking the first applications of these 120-megawatt class gas turbines in LNG service.

“GASTECH is one of the largest international events in the gas industry, bringing together more than 3,000 industry decision-makers from 200 companies," said Piero Salvadori, chairman of our Oil & Gas business. "It provides an excellent forum for GE Energy to showcase the experience and leading-edge product and service technology that we provide to our customers around the world."
