Inspection Programs

Risk-based Inspections

Risk-based inspections help prioritize inspection work and determine which components need to be inspected and the optimal inspection interval based on risk.

Risk-based inspections can help you:

  • Screen units, systems and equipment to identify potentially high-risk areas, facilitate safety reviews and prevent business interruptions
  • Estimate risk based on a systematic and consistent method
  • Select inspection methods and frequency
  • Establish the appropriate NDE plan for new equipment
  • Assign equipment for improved reliability and availability using tools such as predictive maintenance, preventive maintenance or life cycle cost
  • Determine optimal shutdown frequency, duration and maintenance workscope definition

Process Safety Management & Mechanical Integrity (PRISM)

The PRISM® program was developed to help you comply with OSHA requirements for process safety management (PSM) and mechanical integrity. Trained PSM inspectors and data specialists perform inventories, assign categories, develop procedures and test intervals and perform inspections and code calculations on-site.

We provide detailed custom reports from our proprietary data management software (PRISMdms), a facility-wide equipment management system that categorizes and tracks a variety of equipment such as pressure and non-pressure vessels, piping, safety relief devices and other systems. The program helps you organize all of the key information required to evaluate the profitability, performance and predictability of your critical systems and manage current regulatory issues.
