Advanced Radiography Inspections

For Insulated Pipelines

The Profiler scans insulated pipes quickly and easily while they are still in service. It examines insulated piping for blockage, internal corrosion and corrosion under insulation. The Profiler can also detect weldments on insulated piping, which is helpful when you require PMI testing.

Features & Benefits

  • High production screening tool
  • Graphic and digital readout
  • Online inspections
  • No insulation removal required
  • Portable (battery operated)
  • Lightweight and rugged
  • Exempt source (no radiographic boundary area required)
Typical Areas of Concern
  • Turbulent sections at elbows and tees
  • Points of flow restriction
  • Regions around chemical injection points
  • Areas adjacent to superheated nozzles in steam piping
  • Blockages from coke buildup and clams
  • Oil lines with sludge in the bottom of the pipe that cannot be measured with traditional ultrasonic techniques
  • Socket welds that must be fully measured to include the total of both pipes and the seating distance between the inner and outer pipe wall
  • Other points of concern identified through visual inspection or system service history
