WinDAC® Data Acquisition and Monitoring System

WinDAC® Simplifies Data Collection, Analysis

GE's WinDAC® data acquisition, monitoring and control system is an important tool for precipitator operating technology - a powerful, easy-to-use method for gathering and trending data relevant to your process.

WinDAC monitors the operation of your precipitator, and interfaces with your DCS and data archiving systems through the Dynamic Data Exchange native to Microsoft® Windows®. Define the inputs - opacity, boiler load or kiln data, fan speeds, injection system, any analog or digital input - and let WinDAC compile and monitor all these data points.

  • Creates a history file to store and trend vital data, and outputs results on a digital "strip chart" recorder
  • Easily set and change the averages (from six to sixty minutes) that are displayed
  • Allows you real-time correlations between process changes and operating conditions
  • Export data to database and spreadsheet programs or print directly from WinDAC

Virtual control room

WinDAC allows you to monitor and change settings on each SQ-300® AVC. The Remote feature puts you in front of a "virtual" control cabinet, with real-time displays:

  • Meter readings
  • Control status
  • All T/R parameters
  • A slider for energy management
  • An auto/manual switch

All meter displays are user configurable, and all T/R sets can be accessed from this one screen.

Full trending and storage capability

WinDAC uses several methods for gathering and storing data for inclusion in the History Files. GE's unique InfoPort® software allows analog data input to operate invisibly in the background. Key precipitator operating data is stored and trended

  • All power levels
  • VI curves
  • Alarms
  • Rapper firing and "opens" virtually any parameter you would need to analyze

VI curve screen

WinDAC connects with selected SQ-300 AVCs to create and store real-time VI curves for performance plotting.

Manage multiple precipitators

Multiple precipitators are all managed easily with one WinDAC system. Up to 256 T/R sets and 32 data inputs can be configured and operated through the central computer. You can configure multiple profiles for each T/R set, and download the profiles automatically (during load swings, startups and shutdowns) to keep your ESPs operating at their peak during all conditions. WinDAC can scan multiple opacity monitors to keep you abreast of plant performance at all times. Multi-tasking allows full speed operation of background functions, regardless of what you're viewing on screen.
