Voltage Dividers Assist ESP troubleshooting

GE's DB-50 and DB-70 Voltage Dividers safely reduce the high voltage signal to a readable level that can be used by the voltage controls to operate alarms, determine actual kV input, find power arcs, and detect back corona. Without dividers, there is no secondary voltage feedback, and you lack the capability to generate V-I curves, operate undervoltage alarms, or perform accurate evaluations of precipitator performance. Secondary voltage feedback is one of the best troubleshooting tools available.

The DB-50 and DB-70 Voltage Dividers are designed to maximize the functionality of the existing voltage controls and allow them to make full use of all built-in capabilities. The voltage dividers are manufactured to exacting quality specifications to yield maximum accuracy and field reliability. Both models interface with analog secondary voltage meters and digital voltage controls. Compact size and straightforward design make installation easy.

When installed, the DB series Voltage Dividers provide the signals needed to:
  • detect the presence of back corona
  • accurately measure secondary voltage in the precipitator
  • operate AVC undervoltage alarms
  • detect power arcs (when the voltage controls have this capability)
  • provide extremely accurate secondary voltage readings

Voltage Dividers from GE are built with precision instrument grade resistors rather than standard calibration resistors to provide accurate secondary voltage readings. All materials, sealants, and connectors are chosen to provide high reliability, shock and vibration isolation, and protection from moisture, airborne dirt, and rapid temperature changes. Each divider is carefully inspected and bench tested before being shipped to your facility.
