The PRC-100® Programmable Rapper Controller and WinRAP® Software

Studies show reentrainment can be responsible for up to 85% of all precipitator stack emissions. Improperly timed rapping may cause unwanted reentrainment of dust back into the gas stream. But custom rapping program development can be a difficult process. Too much rapping, and you risk mechanical damage to the collecting plates and discharge electrodes. Too little rapping, and you are in danger of dust buildups that can increase spark rates and decrease performance of your precipitator.

Features and Benefits

With GE's PRC-100 Programmable Rapper Control and WinRAP software, you can develop and run your own highly effective rapping programs.

The PRC-100 rapper control uses a simple, modular design to provide easy access to all components.

  • Each rapping device is hard-wired to the PRC-100 control system through a rapper station equipped with card cages.
  • Up to 256 rapper stations can be connected through a single PRC-100 control.
  • Each rapper station has an interface board capable of handling 16 triac boards, each of which has 16 AC or DC high-current outputs.

Each rapper station in the system can control 256 rappers or vibrators, and each PRC-100 can control up to 65,536 devices at once. Moreover, each rapper station can also control low-current solenoid outputs for pneumatic vibrators, acoustic horns, and tumbling hammers.

This capability is supervised by the WinRAP computer, which controls the system from a single location. Each rapper can be profiled, monitored, and adjusted using the Microsoft® Windows® -based settings in WinRAP. The PRC-100 has a built-in NVRAM program that continues to operate the rappers, even if the computer comes off-line. It's not only easy to use, it's practically foolproof.
