BHA Neutralite® Conditioning Agent

BHA Neutralite® Protects Bags and Improves Filtration Performance

Conditioning agents are injected into a baghouse to establish an initial dustcake on new filter bags or to re-establish a dustcake on bags in operation. BHA Neutralite powder was developed to protect bags from particulate bleedthrough, blinding, and problems caused by hydrocarbons and moisture carryover.

GE offers both BHA Neutralite Powder and Neutralite SR (Spark Retardant) for specialized applications to help prevent bags from spark carryover.

Neutralite helps prevent agglomeration from ruining bags exposed to gas stream moisture, and provides new life for damaged bags by creating a primary porous dustcake that can restore filtration functionality and airflows.

Benefits of BHA Neutralite powder

  • Increased bag life
  • Absorbs hydrocarbons and moisture
  • Increased filtration efficiency
  • Improved stack test results
  • Inhibits damaging sparks
  • Lowers differential pressure
  • No detectable free silica content
  • Increased airflow
  • Decreased emissions

How BHA Neutralite conditioning agent works

The dustcake on the bag fabric performs the filtration, not the fabric itself. During injection, BHA Neutralite forms an initial artificial dustcake on the surface of new fabric that covers the fabric with a protective, absorbent layer. This layer has millions of pores preventing damaging particulate that could plug fabric interstices. Because BHA Neutralite is lighter than lime, fly ash or other precoating agents, it won't fall off the bags during cleaning.

Injection guidelines

It is important to follow the injection guidelines for both BHA Neutralite and BHA Neutralite SR to achieve maximum performance. One pound (.45kg) of Neutralite is needed per 20 sq. feet (1.86 m2) of cloth area and one bag is needed per 800 sq. feet (74.32m2) of cloth area for standard dust collector bags. For pleated filter elements, one pound of BHA Neutralite is needed per 100 sq. feet of cloth area.
