Features and BenefitsOur position sensitive proportional counter uses a highly resistive anode of nickel-chrome, which helps determine positioning of the neutron event along the anode. Position resolution is typically 0.1 to 0.2 inches (2.5 to 5.0 mm). The charge division method of determining position resolution is recommended. It is important to match the detector-preamplifier-amplifier electrical characteristics properly to determine accurate position resolution. Proportional counters are available in diameter of 0.5 to 2 inches (12.7 to 50.8 mm) in sensitive lengths of 4 to 40 inches (101,6 to 1,016 mm). Construction can be either 304 stainless steel or 1100 aluminum. Custom DesignsThis proportional counter is one sample of the more than 10,000 neutron counter designs we have developed.
