Product Overview

GE has extensive experience in designing, supplying, and servicing mechanical drive equipment. All GE BWRs built to date have a traversing in-core probe system that is very similar to a PWR Movable In-Core (MIC) probe system. All BWRs prior to the Advanced Boiling Water Reactors (ABWRs), have movable Intermediate and Source Range Monitors. From drive motors to gear boxes and helical drive cables, GE has designed and supplied a variety of mechanical drive equipment to support reliable insertion and retraction of probes under the harshest environmental conditions.
