Features & BenefitsThe NA-300 LPRM assembly is a "wet sensor" design, which permits reactor coolant to flow up through the LPRM tube in intimate contact with the NA-300 ion chambers. A dry tube runs up the center of the NA-300 LPRM assembly to allow the TIP sensor to be positioned adjacent to each of the four sensors for periodic calibration. The four sensors are permanently mounted in the LPRM and are located at predetermined elevations. The assembly is enclosed in a stainless steel cover tube equipped with end fittings that appropriately interface with the support plates and grid of the reactor core. The entire assembly is replaceable from the top of the vessel during a refueling outage.
