Symptoms

Models that have a HEATX icon in the path of a demand signal may not converge due to mass and energy balance problems. Fossil boiler models with air preheating are most likely to exhibit this behavior.

Cause

The version 5.3 HEATX icon does not properly pass demand flow signals upstream. This problem is caused by a known bug. The GateCycle version 5.31 patch addresses it.

Please go to the upgrades section of this site and download the version 5.31 (or higher) patch that addresses this issue.
