Upgrades for GateCycle Software

Version 5.22 Patch (from Version 5.20 or 5.21)

This Patch Applies to:
GateCycle Software:Versions 5.20, 5.21
Operating Systems:Microsoft® Windows NT® and Windows® 95 and 98
Last Updated:02/03/1999
Keywords:GateCycle, Patch, Version 5.22, Hardlock®
About the Patch

This patch upgrades your GateCycle version 5.20 (from the version 5.2 CD) or 5.21 installation to version 5.22. You must have the 5.20 or 5.21 version of GateCycle software installed to use this patch. This patch does not affect your current GateCycle copy protection, and it supports both the software-based (Crypkey®) and the hardware-based (Hardlock) copy protection systems.

This patch replaces the previous two patches GCW521.exe and ehl1_521.exe. If you experienced problems with CycleLink after applying the previous version of GCW522.exe, you can apply this version safely. This patch should remove those problems.

Terms and Conditions

Only organizations with a current maintenance contract for GateCycle software with GE Infrastructure may legally download and apply the patch software. All licensing arrangements previously signed remain in effect with this upgrade. This patch software is provided as a courtesy to our customers. Version 5.22 is not a major release, so it will not be sent automatically to all of our maintenance customers.

How to Upgrade

1. Download the ZIP archive containing patch to your hard drive and extract it:

2. From Windows Explorer, double-click on the file GCW522.exe to run the self-extracting utility.

3. The self-extracting utility asks you to enter the path to your GateCycle software. The default path is C:\Program Files\GE Enter Software\GateCycle. If you did not install GateCycle software into this default directory, enter the directory you specified during installation. After you have provided the correct GateCycle software directory, the upgrade files are copied to the appropriate subdirectories.

4. If you want to use hardware-based copy protection (Hardlock keys) with this new version of GateCycle software, you must also download and install the Hardlock key drivers for your operating system from the Aladdin Knowledge Systems Web site. For more information, visit the page about Hardlock key drivers.
