SymptomsWhen installing GateCycle software, you receive the following error message while setup is transferring files to your hard disk:
Setup then terminates. CauseYour CD-ROM drive does not support long filenames. Resolution1. Install over a network connection using a newer CD-ROM drive on a different computer that supports long filenames. Note: If you cannot share a CD-ROM drive from your computer, copy all of the files from the GateCycle installation CD-ROM onto a network hard drive using a CD drive that supports long filenames; then install from that network drive. To determine whether a CD-ROM drive supports long filenames, look at the file \enter\program\pvinteger.ocx on the GateCycle installation CD. If your drive does not support long filenames, you will see PVINTE~1.OCX as the filename instead of pvinteger.ocx. 2. If you do not have access to a CD-ROM drive that supports long filenames, temporarily copy the entire contents of the GateCycle installation CD onto your hard drive. Then, rename the file in the C:\ENTER\PROGRAM\ directory from PVINTE~1.OCX to pvinteger.ocx before running the SETUP.EXE installation program. Note: This file will probably be copied to your hard disk in read-only format, in which case you must change its properties before renaming it. To change this file from read-only format, select the file name, right-click for the contextual menu, select Properties, and clear the Read-only check box. |
