Symptoms

Users who attempt to open or restore GateCycle models may find that they cannot select the model they want to restore, even though its files are present in the folder selected in the "Restore Model" dialog box.

Cause

Model files that have been copied or selected from a CD, or that have been marked "Read-only," cannot be selected in GateCycle's "Restore Model" dialog box. By default, the Microsoft® Windows® and Windows NT® operating systems automatically assign "Read-only" attributes to files copied from a CD to a hard drive. GateCycle model files that have "Read-only" attributes must be made "writeable" or you will not be able to open or restore the corresponding model.

Resolution

Follow these steps to correct the problem:
1. Start Microsoft Windows Explorer by clicking on "My Computer" on the desktop.
2. Navigate to the folder that contains the GateCycle models you want to open or restore.
3. From the Edit menu, select Select All.
4. Hold down the Shift key and right click your mouse over the selected list of files.
5. From the contextual menu, select Properties.
6. Clear the Read-only attribute check box; then click OK.
