Frequently Asked Questions for GateCycle Software

How Do I Configure Disk Defragmentation Programs?

Before using a disk defragmentation program on a drive on which GateCycle software is installed, please configure the program so that so that it will always exclude the following files from its defragmentation process:

  • CYC32DLL.ENT
  • CYC32DLL.RST
  • CYC32DLL.KEY

These files are located in the "\Program" subfolder of the GateCycle software installation folder. Failure to exclude these files from the defragmentation process causes your license to be lost and prevents you from running GateCycle software until you obtain a new license. After you have excluded the files listed above, you may run the defragmentation program normally. Instructions for excluding files from some common defragmentation programs are given below.

If your defragmentation program is not among those listed below, please refer to the program's documentation or contact the program's vendor for instructions on configuring it to exclude files from its defragmentation process.
