Can't Change Database Directory Because OK Button Is Disabled

This Topic Applies to:
GateCycle Software:Versions 5.20 and higher
Operating Systems:All Operating Systems
Module:User Interface
Keywords:Select Database Directory OK Button Greyed Out, Disabled
Symptoms

The OK button in the Select Database Directory dialog box is greyed out (disabled), preventing the choice of a new database directory.

Cause

You are trying to change the database directory to a directory that lacks certain GateCycle system files that must be in any database directory. These files are:

g-data.unt
g-si-lib.gts
g-siuser.gts
g-uom.lib
g-work.unt

A directory without these files cannot be used as a database directory.

Resolution

To remedy the situation, please use the following procedure to properly configure a new database directory:

1. Close any open model.
2. From the File menu, select New; then select Database Directory.
Note: The Database Directory command is disabled if a model is currently open.
3. Select the new database directory.
4. If the new database directory does not contain any GateCycle models, click Yes; select the model you wish to restore, and click OK.

To switch between existing database directories, please use one of the following procedures:

1. Close any open model.
2. From the File menu, select Open; then select Database Directory.
Note: The Database Directory command is disabled if a model is currently open.

OR

1. Start GateCycle software. If GateCycle software is already running, exit GateCycle software and restart it.
2. On the GateCycle title screen, click Open.
3. In the Open Model/Case dialog box, click Open; then select the desired database directory.
4. Select the desired model and case.
