Opening a 5.2x Model in Version 5.3 Causes Access Violation

Symptoms

GateCycle version 5.2x models that use the vertical HRSG icon (shown below) for evaporators cause an "Access Violation" and crash when opened in GateCycle version 5.3.

Cause

This problem is caused by a known bug. The GateCycle version 5.31 patch addresses it.

Resolution

Please go to the Upgrades section of this site and download the GateCycle version 5.31 (or higher) patch that addresses this issue.

1. Use GateCycle version 5.2x to open the model's reference case.
2. Right-click on each evaporator icon that uses the vertical HRSG display and click "Display".
3. Select the standard (first) evaporator icon display.
4. Save the model in GateCycle version 5.2x.
5. Open the modified 5.2x model in GateCycle version 5.3;then switch back to the vertical evaporator icon display if desired.
