Industrial Steam Turbine Control Retrofits

Steam Turbine Control

Wide Range of Solutions for EHC and MHC Generator & Mechanical Drives

Electrical controls, HPUs, trip manifolds, condition monitoring systems, and integrated generator and compressor controls.

Overview
GE has supplied MHC and EHC controls for industrial steam turbines for decades. Currently, there are thousands of analog and digital systems controlling, protecting, and monitoring units on generator and mechanical drives worldwide. With age, these systems become more difficult and costly to maintain and are often incapable of performing advanced functions to improve efficiency, reliability, etc.

Engine Control Platforms
Product Description
Today, GE offers a wide range of Woodward, Mark VI, and Mark VIe controls for direct replacement of legacy products. Pure governors are available, such as the PeakŪ150 and 505CC-2 for mechanical drives with integrated compressor control. The 505 series also offers scalable solutions for extraction units driving generators, which includes progressively increased capability up to and including double-automatic extraction units and triple redundancy. Completely customized systems are available to integrate outdated monitoring and protection systems, auxiliaries, and driven load equipment with either Mark VI/VIe or Woodward controls. A variety of operator stations, communications, and mechanical upgrades are available to modernize the complete package.

Value
Whether you have an old MHC control, analog EHC control, or early generation, digital EHC control, there are significant benefits to an upgrade. Besides the readily available spare parts and service, modern controls have virtually unlimited flexibility for additional functions, integration of remote instrumentation, controls for driven load equipment, and add incremental redundancy where it is most needed. Operators and maintenance personnel are no longer constrained by limited information available from meters, indicating lights, annunciator windows, and scarce diagnostic lights for operational decisions and locating faults.
