| All of the products in the Altair line are developed specifically with the protection of gas turbines in mind, and our offshore, coastal and marine systems utilize the SRS Technology™ process. SRS Technology is an innovative yet well-proven concept. A technology designed not only to capture all sizes of wet and dry salt particulate, but additionally engineered to remove much of the captured salt from the intake. This substantially reduces the possibility of salt leaching or becoming re-entrained in the air stream.
Stage 1 is referred to as the ‘bulk water’ removal stage. In this stage the majority of the liquid (rain, sea spray, coarse aerosols) entering the intake is removed and drained away. The exact nature of this stage is dependent on the particular system, but is typically a vane separator or similar. Stage 2 is the coalescence stage, where fine aerosols that have penetrated the first stage are coalesced to form larger droplets that can be easily removed by the third stage. Stage 2 is often a filtration stage designed to remove dust and other solid particulate. Since all of our Altair marine and offshore pre-filters and high efficiency filters are optimized for coalescence as well as dust filtration, this dual function can be carried out without compromise. Stage 3 is typically a vane separator or similar, which stops any concentrated saline solution that has passed through stages 1 and 2. Not only is this entrained liquid captured but it is removed from the intake by a manometrically sealed drainage system. Related InformationDownloadsFor More Information |
