Why We Selected ProjectNet

We selected ProjectNet from among several Internet-based information management solutions because it was developed specifically for the construction industry. It has been enhanced to include functionality for the sales and project management phases of a GE project. It offers industry-specific functions such as requests for information, submittals and issue forms, as well as other document management features like communication logs, meeting minutes and conferencing.

Features

A standard project document folder and subfolder structure is established for each phase of the project. Documents can be issued and reviewed by uploading files to, and downloading files from, the folders. Within the Customer Collaboration environment, you can view and print files in more than 200 formats. Information about each file is available, including who viewed or downloaded the document and when.

  • Search Functionality. The folder structure makes it easy to retrieve documents. ProjectNet also provides the ability to search folders and subfolders for specific documents.
  • Online Redlining Capabilities. Drawings can be redlined. The original drawing remains intact and comments are stored on an overlay.
  • Communication. Forms are used to request, send and track project information. Most forms follow a system of rules, referred to as the project's workflow, thus standardizing work processes across the project. You can attach documents to forms. ProjectNet keeps logs of all communications, document reviews and issues, inquiries and action items executed within the Customer Collaboration environment.
