GE's wind turbine technology features robust designs for reliable performance, increased energy capture, variable speed control, cost-effective operation and unique controls for local grid support and improved transmission efficiencies. We currently design and produce wind turbines ranging from 1.5 to 3.6 megawatts. Incorporating wind electricity into a region's energy mix increases its fuel diversity, reducing dependence on foreign imports and their fluctuating costs. Wind is a free and renewable fuel source with zero carbon emissions, and can also enhance a region's energy security.
