Integrity

Message from John Krenicki

GE has been a key player in the energy industry for more than a century. Since the installation of our first steam turbine in 1901, we have become the number one provider of high-technology power generation equipment and services.

The stability and growth of this business are possible in part because our customers, suppliers, employees and shareholders have confidence in us. "Doing what we say we are going to do" and "being who we say we are" are essential parts of the foundation for this confidence. In this respect, integrity is as important to our future growth and success as any other attribute we have.

Being number one in our industry makes us proud, and having earned that position through fair, honest business dealings is a testament to our company and our values. It is one thing for companies to manage integrity by having a code of conduct. GE is a leader in corporate governance because of our culture-a culture that makes integrity a reality, a common standard that applies no matter where we work.

Each of us has the responsibility to "do the right thing," and as leaders we must foster a culture of compliance. We have to operate every day knowing we are all impacted if a single employee fails to get it right. We must all do our part to keep that from happening, and especially to ensure that all our employees know they can and should report integrity concerns without fear of retaliation.

I have the utmost respect for GE's Energy team, one of the most competitive with which I've ever worked. Thousands of talented people work relentlessly to grow, serve customers and deliver for shareholders with total integrity. GE is a company with a worldwide reputation for upholding the highest standards of business conduct, and maintaining that reputation is critically important. Our reputation lets us enter any door in pursuit of our goals. Let's make sure integrity is always our advantage, and protect it like the asset it is!

Sincerely,

John Krenicki, Jr
President and CEO, GE Energy
