At the Customer, For the Customer

Sharing Solutions, Driving Value

The At the Customer, For the Customer (ACFC) initiative is about working with you, our customer, to identify the ways you want to improve your business, offering you a choice of GE tools and resources and working with you on the solutions. We want to give you access to the best parts of our company-the tools and resources that have made us a long-term success. These fall into three areas: Six Sigma projects, best practice sharing and business solutions.

Six Sigma Projects

Six Sigma is a highly-disciplined methodology that focuses on developing and delivering high quality products and services. It focuses on moving every process that touches our customers and every product and service toward defect-free quality.

ACFC Six Sigma projects focus on improving your productivity and reducing your capital outlays, while increasing the quality, speed and efficiency of your operations. What you want-your critical to quality requirements (CTQs)-drive the projects and process improvements.

Example projects include:

  • Gas/fuel reduction for power plant start-up
  • Improved processes to increase plant availability
  • Site-level risk analysis and defect prevention

Best Practice Sharing

Inside and outside our business, people are always looking for and finding better ways to do things. Within GE, these "Best Practices" range from a more effective way to handle customer calls to methods for reducing waste and strategies for structuring more profitable deals. Continually seeking the best solutions for our customers, consumers and our bottom line is part of every employee's job.

You, our customers, have told us that you look to GE to provide expertise to help you develop long-term strategies. With this in mind, we have made our GE Best Practices available to you as part of our ACFC program. GE Best Practices typically come in three forms: formal training, sharing of GE expertise and sharing of market expertise.

Examples of best practice sharing include:

  • IT/Digitization practices
  • Sourcing and supply chain management practices
  • Employee development practices
  • Auditing practices
  • Acquisition integration practices
  • Power plant construction and installation training sessions
  • Leadership development training
  • Education on human resource and employee development processes
  • Start-up and construction process learning sessions
