Design Philosophy

The LM2500 gas generator incorporates a 16-stage axial-flow compressor with adjustable stator vanes on the first six compressor stages. The compressor is coupled to a two-stage high pressure turbine. The low pressure turbine is a mechanically separate two-stage rotor supported by two tilting pad bearings housed in a cylindrical cartridge to permit easy removal and reassembly.

Applications

This machine is ideally suited to mechanical and generator drive applications including pipelines, gas injection, process gas compression, and oil & gas and industrial power generation.
