FLORENCE, ITALY—July 21, 2009 — Cristiano Tortelli, a 20-year veteran of the global oil and gas industry, has been named sales leader for the turbomachinery business of GE Oil & Gas.

“In his new role, Cristiano will lead our efforts to drive commercial growth in the global turbomachinery market, a vital segment for our continuing business success,” said Claudi Santiago, president and CEO of GE Oil & Gas. GE is a world leader in supplying turbomachinery equipment for oil and gas applications, including gas turbines and compressors.

Tortelli will report directly to Joe Mastrangelo, vice president-turbomachinery for GE Oil & Gas.

Claudio Materazzi continues in his role as chairman of Nuovo Pignone S.p.A and will help ensure continuity of customer contact, also retaining leadership for a number of key strategic projects.
