KANSAS CITY, MO. - September 10, 2007 : –GE Energy introduces the SQ-300i™ automatic voltage control (AVC), the completely redesigned AVC for electrostatic precipitators. The SQ-300i, like the original SQ-300i, serves as the "heartbeat" of the electrostatic precipitator control system, using a proprietary spark response algorithm to control the delivery of electrical power to discharge electrodes by controlling power input to a transformer rectifier. The redesigned SQ-300i incorporates the following new features:

Electrostatic precipitators are designed to use electrostatic fields to capture dust and particulate matter from flue gas streams. They are used primarily with industrial and utility coal boilers, but are also used with various industrial applications such as cement kilns, steel furnaces, paper mill recovery boilers and more. Previous versions of the SQ-200™ and SQ-300i AVC products have been in operation for approximately 30 years and with a solid reputation for reliability and quality. Preceding SQ versions will continue to be supported through service and replacement parts.
