GE Unit Conmec to Supply Equipment for Hovensa Refinery in St. Croix LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (December 9, 2003) Conmec, a U.S.-based unit of GE Oil & Gas, has been awarded a contract from HOVENSA LLC to supply a fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) power recovery system for a petroleum refining facility in Christiansted, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. The HOVENSA refinery receives and processes crude oils from all over the world and supplies the processed oil products to North and South America and Europe. The supply of the new, 28.5-megawatt FCC hot gas power recovery expander will increase the plants power generating capacity by approximately 14%. The Conmec contract also includes the supply of catalyst separation equipment, process piping and valves, a TEWAC generator, lube oil skid, water-cooling facilities, control system and balance-of-plant design and materials. The contract with Conmec, the sole responsible supplier to HOVENSA, also will be supported by GE Industrial Systems and P2S/Fluor. The GE equipment will be built in Easton, Pa. and Peterborough, Ontario, Canada and shipped to the project site between July 2004 and January 2005. The power recovery facility is scheduled to begin operation in March 2005. Conmec is a world leader in the redesign, manufacture and servicing of turbomachinery and control systems.
