Human Resources

Human Resources personnel manage employee relations, organizational development, recruiting and staffing, compensation, training and succession and salary planning. They also consult with management on HR and business-related issues on both strategic and operational levels, plan and implement employee involvement and relations programs, manage communications and special events and lead strategic initiatives and policies tied to the overall organization strategy.

Communications

Communications professionals play a critical role in media relations, organizational communications, advertising and marketing, including web site development and electronic media strategy. They participate in the community relations team, coordinate with the Human Resources and Corporate Communications teams and interact with employees, the community and GE executives.

Marketing

Marketing analysts drive the definition, integration, development and implementation of new products. They assess and define customers' global service needs and create the associated product roadmap and implementation plans. They define potential markets, run competitive analyses, highlight service product segmentation and establish pricing and global go-to-market strategies in conjunction with regional marketing teams.

Project Management

Project managers coordinate cross-functionally within the business, tying together all of the various aspects of a project. They cost, plan and manager large projects to maintain profitability and participate in business unit activities such as customer visits, due diligence and staff meetings.

Finance

Financial professionals manage financial functions, including developing budgets, forecasts, estimates and other value-added business analyses for operational purposes. They coordinate the monthly closing process, reconcile accounts, prepare internal business performance reviews, participate in all financial decisions and lead financial activities in growth and volume initiatives.

Information Technology and e-Business

IT and e-Business professionals translate business needs into system and project specifications to develop and maintain effective client interfaces. They lead the implementation of Web-based solutions, ensuring on-time delivery of releases, establishing multigenerational system plans and performing business process analyses. They perform all aspects of project management, including estimating scope and cost, scheduling, managing resources and reporting results.

Buying

Buyers reduce costs by applying procurement practices to project-critical material and services. They interface with other departments to understand quality and delivery requirements, evaluate supplier alternatives to determine the best overall business value, negotiate and implement strategic supplier contracts, ensure contract compliance and identify and help develop low-cost supply alternatives.

Commercial Management

Commercial managers lead the technical proposal preparation process for a commercial team. They define customer requirements, coordinate cost development, price, prepare, review and negotiate bids until contract signature and coordinate partner efforts. They work with Commercial Operations Inquiry to Order (ITO) business teams and the field sales organization to screen opportunities for viability, help establish transaction strategy, drive risk management process compliance and assist team leaders with reviews.

Service Engineering

Service engineers work with customers, suppliers and field and design engineers to find answers to problems that cannot be solved on-site. Using Six Sigma tools and techniques, service engineers strive to improve workforce efficiency and reduce customer downtime.

Supplier Quality Engineering

Supplier quality engineers ensure that our suppliers provide the highest quality products to us and to our customers. They visit suppliers, inspect materials, drive Six Sigma processes and ensure that only the best material is shipped to our factories and sites.

Production Quality Engineering

Production quality engineers are responsible for the quality of the finished product. They work in the factory to ensure that our final product is the best it can be. Using Six Sigma tools and techniques, production quality engineers examine processes and products throughout the factory for ways to improve quality.

Team Facilitation

Facilitators drive production on the manufacturing floor, with direct supervision of approximately 45-60 hourly employees. They set clear expectations of production goals, lead and participate with the hourly workforce to keep facilities, material and work areas orderly, maintain good housekeeping practices, conform to all safety and quality requirements and implement management initiatives and quality/cost programs.
